Weed Your Own Garden

Guess who picked the topic this month? Yep, I’m putting my own shit on our table as I don’t think I’m the only one going through this.

I’ve been telling myself this and working on it for the last month, “Jeannie, Weed your own garden!”

Here’s what this means to me: “Look at the relationships that are feeding you, look at the relationships that are poisoning your soil and stifling your growth and act accordingly. Look for the people you align with morally, ethically, spiritually, professionally, energetically, … and do more of THAT!”

I’m learning both in my personal and my professional life to be more discerning and frankly more protective of my energy, time and my talents. Only took 56 years! So weeding out relationships or alliances that don’t have reciprocity, are singularly faceted, are temperamental and untrue, that don’t align with where we want to go, that have us morally compromised….pull those weeds as they’re choking you!

And it will hurt, I won’t pretend it won’t— but it will also feel great too. But then we get to plant what we really, really, really want and deserve in fertile soil that’s ready to bring things to life. We can nurture who we are and what we are here to do—our real purpose and that’s so important. This to me is the best part of the pandemic! The time we have to really see, feel and lean into what our heart’s desire truly is.
